Overview Of Role

We are looking for a Configuration Manager to be based at one of our clients situated in Pretoria CBD.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration Management: Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes, policies, and standards in line with industry best practices (such as ITIL).
  • Configuration Database (CMDB) Oversight: Manage and maintain the Configuration Management Database to ensure all configuration items (CIs) are properly identified, recorded, and tracked.
  • Change Control: Collaborate with change management teams to ensure all changes to IT infrastructure are accurately reflected in the CMDB and comply with change control processes.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Conduct regular audits of configuration items and related documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Reporting: Generate configuration status reports and metrics for management and stakeholders, highlighting risks and areas for improvement.
  • Incident and Problem Management Support: Provide configuration information to assist with incident resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to configuration management processes, tools, and documentation.

    • Matric
    • Bachelor’s degree / National Diploma or equivalent in IT (added advantage)
    • ITIL4 Foundation Certificate

    Experience

    Minimum 3 years of experience in IT configuration management or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of IT configuration management principles and best practices (ITIL certification is desirable).
  • Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) tools and technologies.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with IT service management processes (e.g., incident, change, and problem management).
