We are urgently looking for a Security Analyst to be based at one of our client offices in Pretoria.

• Understanding of common network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, etc.) and howthey work
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and their securityfeatures
• Knowledge of common cybersecurity threats (malware, phishing, hacking
• techniques, etc.) and how to detect and mitigate them
• Proficiency in using security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection/preventionsystems, vulnerability scanners, SIEM tools, etc.
• Ability to read and analyze log files, network traffic, and other security-related data
• Familiarity with basic programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python,PowerShell, Bash) for automation and customization of security tools

Ability to analyze security incidents, identify root causes, and recommend

• appropriate remediation actions
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to investigate security events and
• identify potential security risks
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot anomalies or suspicious patterns in
• data
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to document findings,
• recommendations, and report to stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field
• Entry-level cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
• Certifications such as, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Fortinet
• Certifications, and Microsoft Azure Certifications are highly desirable

1 - 2 years' experience in:
o Firewalls (e.g., Fortigate)
o Intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
o Security information and event management (SIEM) tools
o Vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys)
o Network monitoring and analysis tools
1 - 2 years' experience in Microsoft Azure

• Aptitude for researching and staying up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with IT, compliance, and other security professionals
• Patience and customer service orientation to provide support and guidance to end-users.
